Some wintry poetry for wintry times...

So, it looks like we may actually be getting some decent winter weather tonight and tomorrow [for the first time this season]. So here's some winter poetry.

Poem for a Winter's Day

by Philip Cole

When earth is masked with silken snow,
And this life’s noise is hushed and low,
Our only light a candle’s glow,
And I whisper to you slow,
“I love you.”

Out in fields both cold and bleak
Or under trees bare-naked, weak,
To meet your eyes I ardently seek,
To hold you close and softly speak,
“I love you.”

So on this icy winter’s day
When light of sun is hid away,
To find your warmth I hope and pray,
And see your face, and to you say,
“I love you.”
